Based in Calgary, the Senior Trader will play a critical role in leading the Heartland Generation wholesale and market fundamentals groups. This position leads a dynamic team, develops and deploys forward financial strategies, manages commercial and institutional price risk, and develops the Alberta power and gas price forecast. The Senior Trader is the main conduit between the wholesale desk and other fast-moving areas of the Heartland Generation business.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have a proven history of trading electricity, with a keen understanding of Alberta’s electrical generation landscape and market. Your analytical approach is underpinned by well-developed communications skills. As this role is a leadership position, experience leveraging the diverse skills of a talented team is crucial. Ideally, you have a related post-secondary degree with eight-plus years of experience trading in the Western Canadian power industry. Further educational achievements and certifications are considered
advantageous.
